Sharon Riley - DNP, APRN, FNP - BC
Sharon is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Sharon takes pride in empowering her patients to self-advocate their care and ensuring patients are armed with education about their health.
Sharon received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Florida A&M University in 1999 and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) terminal degree from George Mason University in 2015.
Sharon’s Doctoral work was focused on Nephrology, developing a tool for Primary Care Providers on the Evaluation and Management of Chronic Kidney Disease. Sharon practiced in Nephrology for 3 years, managing patients with Chronic Kidney Disease and End-Stage Renal Disease. Sharon’s other specialties include Hospitalist Medicine and Urgent Care, where Sharon has practiced for the last 6 years.
Before becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Sharon worked as a Critical Care and Float Pool nurse for 16 years, working in various hospital settings. This array of experience has helped shape Sharon to be the thorough and well-versed Nurse Practitioner her patients appreciate as a provider.
In her spare, time Sharon enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband and two beautiful girls. In addition, Sharon takes pride in keeping fit by doing yoga and stationary biking. Sharon also enjoys gardening and traveling to fun locations.
